The interior of most vehicles takes a lot of abuse.   Why?  

Because the inside of your car has only a very small area and it is subjected to continuous, concentrated traffic and wear.  This is unlike the inside of your home, which has a greater area with more square feet.

Every time you get into your vehicle, you bring in more dirt and each time you eat or drink in your vehicle, you add a few more  crumbs and possibly spills.   As a matter of fact, while just sitting in your car, you will shed hair and dead skin.  All of this dirt and junk can accumulate very quickly if not dealt with on a regular basis. 

Here are a few easy detailing tips to help you keep your vehicle interior looking great and dirt-free. 
We recommend you tackle these each week.

1. Remove any trash from the floor, seats, under seats, door compartments and center consoles.

2. Remove floor mats and shake off any loose dirt and debris. If you have carpeted floor mats, use a whisk broom or carpet brush to remove debris which has settled inside the carpet fibers.

3. Wipe down all leather, vinyl and plastic surfaces with a damp towel or cloth (Note! Wipe down your door sills and door jambs last). A microfiber detailing towel is perfect for this task. It will leave your surfaces lint and dust free. 

4. Once you've wiped down all leather, vinyl and plastic surfaces, we recommend taking a dry microfiber towel, blast it a few times with your favorite protectant (we highly recommend using our 303 Aerospace Protectant) and give it a good once over. 

5. Wipe down your interior glass and acrylic surfaces, rear view mirror, GPS Navigator screen, gauges, etc.. with a damp microfiber detailing towel. If your windows are relatively clean, you shouldn't even have to use any glass cleaner. 

Most of us spend a great deal of time in our vehicles every week, so it makes sense that we should keep them as clean as possible.  With our busy schedules, it makes it difficult to fully detail our vehicles every week.

Car waxes and surface polishes are not all the same when it comes to protecting the exterior surfaces of your valuable marine craft, car or other vehicle.  Many different types of car waxes are available in the market and it becomes a real task to choose the right one for your vehicle or marine craft.

For almost 100 years, waxing has been the answer to protecting the luster, color and finish of your car’s exterior surfaces, but that is no longer true. Unfortunately, the problem with waxing is that it only ever offers temporary protection for your car.  While they are invisible to the human eye, paint has pores, just like your skin.  And, after a good baking under the scorching sun, solar heat closes those pores and forces out the melted wax. These waxes become warm and sticky enough to trap dust, acids and chemicals on your car's paint, exactly what they are supposed to keep away!

When applied in paste form, car waxes provide a more durable finish and clean better than spray products, but they require more effort.  For this reason, sprays and liquids tend to be more widely popular even if they are not as effective.

Here are 5 simple, proven things you can start doing today to help you get a minimum of 10% better mileage and fuel economy from your vehicle.


Simple Tip #1

Always buy fuel at the coolest times of day.      Early in the morning or late evening are your best bets. Fuel expands and contracts based on temperature. Simply put, it takes less gas to fill up during the coolest time of day than it does the hottest.

Simple Tip #2

Be sure you have the proper air pressure in your tires.   
This is huge. The less pressure in your tires, the more friction your tires create on the road. This also means your engine has to work harder to maintain your desired speed when driving. Your tires lose a little air pressure every day. So, over the course of several weeks, your tire pressure could be off significantly, thereby costing you valuable fuel mileage. Simple Tip #3

Fouled spark plugs, a dirty air filter or a clogged fuel filter, will all have a direct negative impact on your mileage and economy.     Have all of these checked every time you go in for an oil change and have them replaced if necessary. Slow it down a little.           Did you know that cars get about 21% more gas mileage at 55 mph than at 70 mph! It's true.

Simple Tip #5

Remove any excess weight from your trunk. Heavier vehicles require more energy to move, so carrying around excess weight will also affect your mileage. Empty unnecessary items out of your trunk (or even your backseat).  An extra 100 pounds in the trunk will reduce your fuel mileage by 1 to 2 percent in the typical vehicle.   If you have a roof rack, only use it whenever you need it.   Not only does a roof rack add extra weight, but it also increases the aerodynamic drag on your vehicle.

We're constantly evaluating fuel saving products from around the world for our customers.
